Fun fact- ok, it's an opinion, but meh-

Jezebel is as much of a feminist website as my big toe. It's a poorly disguised clickbait gossip column. I'm a feminist and I avoid that place like the plague. If there is anything worth reading there, it will turn up in a respectable venue anyway.

They're the reason we can't have nice things, and it pisses me off that people think they are the epitome of modern feminism, which couldn't be further from the truth. I'm truly sorry that site leaves a bad taste in your mouths, I understand completely.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate on the Jezzies at all. Some of the comments I read from their community are freaking priceless! I have just previously been under the impression that it you are a guy, whatever you say, joking or not, is met with a great deal of skepticism or borderline hostility. Which, of course, is the exact opposite on Jalopnik/Oppo.

Jezebel is NOT for feminists. Maybe for femin-nazis. But not serious feminists. I know a fair share of feminists in real life. They dedicate their time to serious issues (and issues that have nothing to do with which reproductive organ you have at all) and they often don't like having a staunch label applied to what they do.

There is asking for equality, which is great. Then there is what Jezebel promotes which is as follows; If you have a penis you are the devil re-incarnate.

Now I don't go to Jez often, but because of a mod convo on GroupThink, I somehow got authorship on GT. I go there every now and again, I even introduced myself and told them I was from Oppo. Had some great car conversations with some of those people. They seem pretty cool. That being said, I am not going to comment on some posts regarding sensative topics even if I think I have something positive to add.

The problem is that even most self proclaimed "feminists" think that it is the Mecca for feminists.

I'm afraid the term is used by most women to remove themselves from taking responsibility for their sexual promiscuity and to blame men when they don't get their way.

I don't believe that's what real feminism should be about, but that's what it's become. :\
